The View from Here

May 29, 2026

The View From Here explores the displacement of heritage but also the persistence of tradition, reflecting on my own relationship with my home, Cornwall. The work explores how local trades and traditional identities have been reshaped through the current economic climate. Through performance-based imagery, I aim to represent the complex realities of working-class lives in a way that doesn’t rely entirely on romanticised, victim-like representations. I aim instead, to engage more with humour and satire to reclaim representations and critique social systems.
